With only 7 matches played, the English Premier League table looks unusual. And this is why ...
ARSENAL & LIVERPOOL
Only Arsenal and Liverpool supporters would know the last time their club was at the summit. Apparently it was in 2010 for Arsenal. The Internet wouldn't even tell me the last time Liverpool was on top. Look at it this way, at least Arsenal is at the top of the table in the beginning of every season.
Right now both clubs have won 5 matches and are sitting on 16 points (alphabetic difference).
Apparently it's Mesut Ozil's £42.4 million transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal that has helped Arsenal sit at the top of the table, for now.
Liverpool did not need the services of Luis Suarez to get to the top of the table. Suarez was serving the rest of his ban for biting Ivanovic last season.
MANCHESTER UNITED
Recently, Manchester United were 12th on the table and the win at the Stadium of Light moved them to 9th place. This is not how the title holders should be playing. So far they have only won 3 matches, lost 3 and drew one. The absence of Sir Alex Ferguson is clearly evident in the poor results United has been producing lately.
I'm certain some United supporters hope Moyes doesn't run the club into the ground before he either quits or gets sacked. All these defeats and shared spoils are making it hard to watch the Red Devils play - you just never know what to expect.
Wayne Rooney has been sensational for Manchester United since the start of the season even with that little gash in his head. Some would say he's in top form, but that is an understatement. Rooney exudes raw talent and incredible class - he's in a league of his own. Who would have thought the footballer who 'wanted to leave' Old Trafford would look like the footballer to watch for United this season?
SUNDERLAND
Paolo di Canio was sacked as Sunderland manager after 13 matches and 3 wins last season to 5 matches, 4 defeats and 1 point this season as Sunderland sits at the bottom of the table.
Strangely, before the final whistle after Sunderland's 3-0 loss at West Brom, Di Canio walked across the pitch to stare at angry away fans, made 'chin up' gestures before heading towards the tunnel.
OTHER STORIES
•Liverpool and Everton's unbeaten runs have ended.
•Chelsea are where they usually are on the table, in 3rd place.
•Tottenham Hotspur is doing just fine without Gareth Bale.
•Regardless of Carlos Tevez moving away from the Etihad, Manchester City and Pellegrini signing a significant amount of footballers, City aren't dominating the league like Pellegrini said they would.
•Crystal Palace in the relegation zone regardless of all their transfer signings.
Now all we can do is imagine or wonder what the table will look like not only at the end of the season but halfway through the season too.
